There’s a brand new member of the Erborian BB Cream family and I like it a lot. Here’s the lowdown on the Erborian Super BB Cream. I have a review, before and after photos, and swatches for you to check out. I also have a comparison of Super BB to Erborian’s much loved CC cream to help you work out which one you need.

The shade that suits my skin the best is Nude.

I really love the finish of this. It covers effortlessly and you really don’t need a lot.

My Review of Erborian Super BB

I have to say, I liked this product as soon as I tried it. The shade Nude is a really good match for me. It is on the light side, so it’s nice and brightening, and I just need a touch of bronzer to warm everything up.

I have been using a foundation buffing brush to apply this and you only need a small amount to get a lovely flawless coverage. It blends effortlessly and takes absolutely no time at all to apply.

Is it non-comedogenic?

The Erborian Super BB is non-comedogenic and dermatologist tested, so you need not worry about it blocking pores.

What is the best way to apply it?

I find the best way to apply it is to pump out a small amount on the back of the hand and then use a buffing brush to pick up small dabs at a time. It is really very easy to blend and give excellent coverage really quickly.

Does it hydrate the skin?

I find the Erborian Super BB formula nice and hydrating. It contains white Ginseng and fermented Ginseng flower which work to moisturise and hydrate. It leaves my skin feeling juicy and not dry.

What other skincare benefits are there?

As well as hydrating white Ginseng and fermented Ginseng flower, the formula also contains 4% niacinamide to ensure that skin clarity is maximised. The niacinamide works to minimise imperfections such as clogged pores and blackheads for a more unified complexion.

Is it good for mature skin?

I have mature skin and I am getting on really well with it. I have an oily t-zone and am dehydrated everywhere else and I find the Erborian Super BB formula very balancing. I don’t find that it settles into any fine lines and it stays looking natural and healthy on my skin.

What is the finish and coverage?

So the Super BB offers more coverage than Erborian’s original BB cream and CC Cream but this doesn’t mean it is mask-like. A small amount gives a beautiful natural finish that makes my skin look really good. It is perfected without looking cakey.

You can still see skin and although the finish is matte, there is a really healthy looking radiance that glows through, especially if you don’t powder it.

It is lightweight in feel, and very buildable, so you can add an extra layer for areas you need a touch more coverage.

Is it long wearing?

This lasts really well on my skin and my skin stays looking perfected throughout the day. I haven’t been powdering it and I still have a good and even level of coverage at the end of the day.

Erborian Super BB vs Erborian CC Cream

If you’re a fan of Erborian’s much adored CC Cream, and I know there are lots of you out there, you may want to know how this new Super BB cream is different.

What is Erborian CC Cream?

This is an award-winning product from Erborian and one of their all time best-sellers. It is designed to offer the lightweight consistency of a moisturiser with the coverage of a sheer foundation.

The CC Cream uses encapsulated colour-correcting pigments which self-adjust to your own skin tone.

What’s the difference in coverage with the Super BB and the CC?

The Super BB is Erborian’s highest coverage base product and it has been designed to effectively cover and conceal blemishes, spots and other imperfections.

As you will see from the before and after photos above, it is extremely skin perfecting and gives a very flawless finish and even tone.

The CC Cream is one of Erborian’s lightest coverage (their lightest is a gel like CC called CC Water) which works to softly balance uneven skin tone and can correct minor imperfections. It’s a real no-makeup makeup product and great for good skin days, or combined with a concealer.

Erborian Super BB Compared to CC Photos

I use the lightest shade in the CC Cream. It’s great for days when I don’t want a makeup look but I just need a little bit of help to even things out. You can see this on the right side of the photo. The left side shows the enhanced coverage of the Super BB.

The CC gives my skin a gorgeous dewy and illuminated finish that looks super fresh and natural, while the Super BB provides a more flawless makeup look. I love them both.
